University of Idaho

Investor Level: Heritage Investor

Since 1889, the University of Idaho has been a place that expects more from itself, more from its students, more from knowledge and more from life.

We offer a distinctive combination of outstanding majors and graduate programs, accomplished faculty, world-class facilities, renowned research and a residential campus in a spectacular natural setting. It's no wonder we're ranked among the top national universities in the country (U.S. News & World Report). We're also one of the best values in higher education (The Princeton Review).

Idaho Falls – University Place

The University of Idaho Idaho Falls Center provides programs that are individually designed to meet the educational objectives of the traditional and non-traditional student. We are located near the Idaho National Laboratory (INL), which provides unique research and educational opportunities. Our partnership with Idaho State University (ISU) allows students greater access to courses.

Here are just a few things that set us apart:

The Research

  • We are home to the Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES); a premiere research facility due to open Fall 2008
  • Idaho Water Resource Research Institute
  • SR3 - Ground Water/Surface Water Interaction
  • Science, Mechanics, and Materials (SiMM) Laboratory (Teton).

The Academics

  • More than 20 resident faculty offer the individual attention that is possible with a small student-to-faculty ratio.
  • Seventeen (17) Master's, eleven (11) Ph.D. and three (3) undergraduate majors are available in Idaho Falls.
  • Carefully selected Affiliate faculty with expertise and teaching experience complement the local programs.
  • Students can take courses from University of Idaho (UI) and Idaho State University (ISU).
  • Students can complete full degree programs here or begin in Idaho Falls and transfer to the UI Moscow campus.

The Students

  • Our typical enrollments at University Place include 500 UI and 2000 ISU students.
  • Students are a mix of traditional and non-traditional students.
  • Students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate or professional development programs.

The Student's Life

  • University Place is a "commuter campus."
  • Our Student Union Building offers the convenience and advantages of a centrally located bookstore, cafe, computer lab, counseling center, Nurse Practitioner, Early Learning Center, student organization meeting rooms and study areas.
  • The Students Services office located in the Student Union Building houses financial aid, academic advisors, admissions and registrar for both ISU and UI.
  • Library services are available on-site. Students have free access to a rich array of research materials.

The Support

  • We partner with Idaho State University, Eastern Idaho Technical College, and Idaho National Laboratory.
  • We are the local connection with the main campus in Moscow. Students can easily work with faculty and staff from Moscow.
  • Engineering Outreach, Career Planning and Placement, and the UI library have programs designed to serve students who are located outside Moscow.

The Value

  • Our students can work, play, and earn an undergraduate or graduate degree in eastern Idaho.
  • Students who want to "re-tool" their skills can take courses for professional development.
  • Our tuition, fees, and costs are consistently lower than the average four-year public university.

Governet

Investor Level: Associate Investor

GOVERNET was founded in 1986 by Paula Young with a primary purpose of publishing a directory of licensed Nevada contractors. With ever increasing demands for information on Contractors as well as other public information, local governments in southern Nevada retained Ms. Young to provide access to public information via an online network. The network provided a simpler means to access commonly requested data by both other government agencies and the general public.

Over the years, Governet has taken advantage of new technologies to offer continually upgraded services. Old systems have been converted and upgraded with the advanced toolsets which made Governet a leader in producing innovative and cost-effective database development to business processing and re-engineering.

Statewide connectivity database and network development: Critical advancements have been made over the last 5 years to convert these old practices, taking advantage of new and emerging Internet technologies. With contracts in Nevada, Idaho, Arizona and California entities and creating a new infrastructure which allows users to conduct statewide searches for "like information" in one search.

Governet's mission is to help our clients transform their organizations through the innovative use of technology.
For Government and Higher Education clients, the focus is on creating simplified access to information, documents, and services through local, regional, and statewide Webs.

This transformation often includes a progression of services:

  • Strategic Planning
  • Process Reengineering
  • Internet Applications Programming

In some cases, custom or "off the shelf" software products facilitate the desired transformation.
The ultimate objective: a "Web" that automates workflow for internal units and provides 24/7 information and service access to customers.
